About

Like most people in the US, Assyrian culture is a mystery to me.  Although my grandparents immigrated to the US and spoke Assyrian, my only connection with the culture is the food.  Which is not such a bad thing when you consider that like Italian and other “old world” cultures, the cuisine tells you a lot about the people themselves and where they come from.  Assyrian food is similar to that of other Middle Eastern cuisines, but since Assyrians are mainly Christians, there are some differences.  This blog is dedicated to my family so we can continue to keep our culture alive and for anyone else out there who is up for trying something new (or old).  Enjoy!
